With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded…” – Luke 12:48b
This line might remind you of Uncle Ben from Spider-Man. But did you know that this principle isn’t just a wise quote from a movie? It actually comes from the truth of God’s Word. God doesn’t give us talents, creativity, or abilities just for ourselves. Every skill you have whether it’s designing, writing, singing, or simply making others smile is not a coincidence. It’s a trust. And as Jesus said, “From everyone who has been given much, much more will be demanded.” You might think your skill is “just average.” But in God’s hands, even the smallest talent can have a huge impact. Moses only had a staff. David had a sling. That boy had just five loaves and two fish. But they gave what they had and God used it. Skill isn’t just potential. Skill is responsibility. Today, the question is not: “How impressive is my skill compared to others?” But rather: “Have I used what God has entrusted to me to bless others?”
What to do:
1. Have you maximized what God has entrusted to you to bless others? When we diligently develop our potential not for recognition, but to serve God can use even our simplest skill for something extraordinary.
2. Say this prayer: “Lord, I want to maximize the potential within me so I can bless others through my life. Thank You for trusting me. I won’t waste this opportunity.”
