Today’s devotional is titled:
When Our Choices Are Wrong
Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”
Hi, Rehobot Youth! In life, we have to make various choices and decisions. Sometimes we feel the choices we make are correct because, in our judgment, they seem like the best path. However, this verse reminds us that what we consider right is not necessarily right in God’s eyes. Therefore, we need humility to realize that our own judgment can be flawed.
God wants us to learn to involve Him in every choice we make. Through His Word and the counsel of people God has placed around us, we can learn to view decisions more wisely. So, do not close your heart when faced with a rebuke or advice suggesting your decision needs correction. It could be that through such correction, God is helping us realize that the path we chose does not align with His will.
Rehobot Youth, realizing we are wrong is not always easy. Sometimes pride, shame, or the desire to defend our opinions keeps us walking down the wrong path. Yet, humility gives us the courage to say, “I was wrong,” and the willingness to make things right. Changing a wrong decision is not a sign of weakness; rather, it is proof that we choose to obey God over clinging to our own desires.
So, Rehobot Youth, do not be afraid to admit when a choice turns out to be wrong. Have a humble heart to accept correction and be willing to change decisions that do not align with God’s will. Do not keep walking the wrong path simply because you have already chosen it. Humility enables us to stop, accept correction, and choose a path that aligns with God’s will instead.
What To Do?
1. Consider matters wisely before making a decision.
2. Do not rush to follow your desires without thinking about the consequences.
3. Choose the path that aligns with the truth of God’s Word.
