Today’s Devotional is titled:
Victory Over Sin Comes Not by Strength, But by Staying Connected
“I am the vine; you are the branches… apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
Ever felt like you keep failing to overcome the same sin? Maybe you’ve tried harder, set resolutions, made promises—but still fall. The key isn’t how strong your willpower is, but how closely you stay connected to Christ.
Imagine a branch separated from its tree. It dries up quickly and can’t bear fruit. But a branch that stays connected receives life from the vine. In our spiritual life, we can’t live in victory unless we stay connected to our true source of strength.
Victory over sin isn’t about how hard you try, but how often you come into God’s presence. Abiding is about building habits—through prayer, the Word, and intimacy. The closer we are to Him, the stronger we become to say “no” to sin.
What to Do:
1. Evaluate your devotional time and intimacy with God over the past week. Have you truly been “abiding”?
2. Create a simple daily schedule for quality time with God, and commit to starting it today.
