The Obedient Centurion
Acts 10:1–2
“At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.”
Hello, Truth Junior Friends! Have you ever seen a police officer or a soldier? They have the important job of keeping people safe and protecting others. In the Bible, there was also a soldier named Cornelius. He wasn’t just brave and strong—he also had a heart that feared God. That means Cornelius honored and obeyed the Lord.
Cornelius prayed often and loved to help the poor. Even though he had an important position, he wasn’t proud. He stayed humble and always did what was right. Because of his sincere heart, God noticed him. One day, God sent Peter to visit Cornelius and share the message about Jesus. Through that encounter, Cornelius and his whole family came to know Jesus and were saved!
Truth Junior Friends, from Cornelius we learn that God is pleased with children who pray faithfully, are willing to share, and live righteously. And during this Christmas season, we can follow Cornelius’s example by showing love to others—helping friends in need, giving with joy, and staying humble like Jesus, who was born simply in a manger.
Christmas isn’t just about gifts or celebrations—it’s about having a heart that’s obedient and full of love. So, Truth Junior Friends, let’s celebrate Christmas with pure hearts like Cornelius: obeying God, praying faithfully, and spreading the love of Jesus wherever we go!
