The Noble Dignity

Anyone who claims to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ must do what He desires and wills. We cannot say we believe in someone without having a relationship with that person. True faith always contains evidence that proves its reality.

We all believe in President Prabowo, but that only means acknowledging his status. We do not have a personal relationship with him, and therefore, it cannot be called true belief. On the other hand, if we claim to believe in the Lord Jesus, there must be a reciprocal relationship, a living interaction. We must understand what He wants and sincerely carry out whatever He wills for our lives.

Abraham is called the father of faith because he did not fill his faith merely with intellectual activity or verbal confession, but with concrete action. Abraham’s life was wholly devoted to following and obeying whatever the Lord, Yahweh Elohim, desired. If we honestly look at ourselves, how far do we have a real relationship with God? Do we have tangible interaction with Him? Do we truly understand God’s will for us to carry out?

We have two parts of Scripture: the Old Testament and the New Testament. Both must be fulfilled. According to the law given in the Decalogue (the Ten Commandments), we must live by them, for they are moral and universal ethical standards. But in the New Testament, we are called to have the mind and heart of Christ, which means we must understand God’s will in a specific way for our lives—personally, uniquely, and individually—because every person’s situation is different. Each individual must wrestle with their life concretely and presently before God at all times.

In reality, many Christians have not even reached the standard of moral law. Such people, far from being counted as members of the Kingdom of Heaven, are not even worthy to be part of society. To become members of God’s Kingdom family, one must partake of the divine nature and possess the mind and heart of Christ. In this way, everything we do is aligned with the thoughts and feelings of God.

This is indeed very difficult, but it is the highest dignity in human life. There is no greater honor than the life of a person who does the will of God. That is why we must learn what the Lord Jesus taught. Do you know? What Jesus taught is extraordinary, powerful, noble, and glorious. His teaching is unlike that of other religions.

Family is indeed a responsibility. A person who neglects his family is irresponsible and shows that he does not know God. Whoever abandons his family will surely end up in hell. We are obligated to care for our families, but not at the expense of what each individual must fulfill before God. We must preserve our families, but we must also fulfill what belongs to God. One day, each person will stand before Him to give an account.

As believers, we also have another family that we must pay attention to—the eternal family. In fact, many believers have broken ties with their own siblings—whether because of inheritance disputes, quarrels, differences in principles, or even seemingly harmonious relationships, yet still unrepentant and not doing the Father’s will.

Only those who do the will of the Father are called brothers and sisters. The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.”
