The Meaning of Hard Work
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship.” — Romans 12:1
We’ve all been there: ministry that drains you mentally and physically. You work hard often behind the scenes without spotlight or recognition. Miscommunication happens, different perspectives between field and office teams, even small clashes that can make the atmosphere tense and awkward. But today, let’s see our ministry through the lens of Romans 12:1. Paul reminds us that offering our bodies is true worship. This means every drop of sweat, every second of our time and energy, is never wasted. It all becomes a holy offering to God. Ministry is not about achievements it’s about our heart posture. God isn’t looking for the most talented person, but for a heart willing to obey, serve, and be responsible with the talents He has given. Serving isn’t about pressure it’s about desire. Jesus is our best example. He is the wine poured out and the bread broken meaning He gave Himself completely. He showed total dedication and love during His 3.5 years of ministry. And we are called to follow in His steps not in our own strength, but with the same love. If our life is only about ministry routines, we’ll eventually burn out. But if we realize that every act of ministry is a reflection of Jesus in our lives, then we are walking in true worship. Your life matters when those around you feel peace, love, and the light of Christ through your presence. So, let’s keep going even when we’re tired. There is eternal meaning behind every step we take in serving.
What to Do (Today’s Practical Steps):
1. Rewrite the reason you started serving God. Then ask yourself: “Am I still serving with the same heart?”
2. Do one small act today with the spirit of Jesus. For example, help clean up without being asked, send an encouraging message to your team, or show up early to practice with a positive attitude.
