The King’s Forest Keeper

“The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.” – Leviticus 25:23

In a small village called Lestaria, there lived a boy named Nara who loved playing outdoors—climbing trees and catching dragonflies in the meadow. Unfortunately, Nara had a bad habit: he often threw trash carelessly.

One day, Nara fell asleep under a big tree. When he opened his eyes, the sky looked different. The air was fresh, and the birds chirped as if to welcome him. Strangely, there wasn’t a single piece of plastic or trash anywhere. Suddenly, a man in a green robe with a crown of leaves appeared. “Welcome to the King’s Forest,” he said with a smile. “This is the forest of the King of the Universe, who created the whole world. I am His forest keeper. We are looking for a new keeper who can be trusted.”

“I can do it!” Nara shouted eagerly. The Keeper nodded. “Good. But there is one important condition: you must care for this forest as if it belongs to the King, not you. Do not harm it. Do not pollute it. Care for it with respect.” Nara then began his duty. He swept dry leaves, put stones back in their place, and planted new flowers. Every time he was tempted to throw away a candy wrapper, he remembered the Keeper’s words: “This belongs to the King.”

A week passed. Nara felt joyful and peaceful, but suddenly he woke up. He was back under the tree in Lestaria. For a moment he was confused, but then he noticed something in his hand—a tree seed with words engraved on it: “A gift from the King. Care for it with love.”

From that day on, Nara changed. He became more caring toward the environment and invited his friends to clean the park, plant trees, and stop littering. He never forgot the lesson from his dream: this world does not belong to us—it belongs to God. We are only His keepers.
