The Heart Jesus Desires
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
When it’s your birthday, what do you usually hope for? Gifts? A surprise party? Sweet messages from people you love? Totally normal. But have you ever wondered… what does Jesus hope for on His birthday?
Think about Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. He never asked for presents or praise. What he wanted was peace. A world where people live justly, care for each other, and stop being selfish. Aang knew that power isn’t for showing off it’s for serving.
Jesus is the same. Christmas isn’t about giving gifts just because it’s tradition. It’s about giving what Jesus actually wants: a life that’s just, loving, and humble. Micah 6:8 is like Jesus’ birthday wishlist not stuff, but heart posture.
So if you’re wondering what to give Jesus this Christmas, try giving Him a life that leans into justice, loyalty, and humility. It doesn’t have to be perfect just start with something real and small.
✅ What to Do?
1. Ask yourself: where can I be more just this week? Maybe in how you speak to your sibling, or how you decide who gets a turn first. Do one small thing that shows fairness.
2. Make a reminder on your phone or a sticky note: “Jesus’ Christmas gift = a life of justice, mercy, and humility.” Put it somewhere you’ll see often. Let it remind you that Christmas isn’t just about celebration it’s about transformation.
