The Faith of a Child of God

1 Samuel 17:45
“David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.’”

Have you ever been looked down on because you’re still young? Maybe someone said, “Oh, you can’t do that—you’re just a kid.” That must feel disappointing, right? But don’t forget—God can use even a child to do great things!

Long ago, there was a young shepherd boy named David. He was small, young, and spent his days watching over sheep. One day, David bravely stepped forward to fight Goliath, a giant warrior everyone in Israel was afraid of. Everyone thought David would surely lose—but he didn’t. What was his secret? His secret was faith.

Faith means trusting God completely, even when things seem impossible. David didn’t rely on his small size or simple weapon—he relied on God. Because of his faith, one small stone from David’s sling brought down the giant Goliath.

Truth Junior Friends, faith can also be our “superpower.” But this power only works when we truly trust and love God. With faith, we can be honest even when we’re afraid of getting scolded, brave enough to pray even when others laugh at us, and kind even when someone is being mean to us.

As long as we stand on the side of what’s right, we don’t have to be afraid—because God is with us. So come on, let’s learn to have faith like David!
