Today’s devotional is titled:
The Apostle Simon Peter
Acts 2:14
“Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: ‘Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.’”
Do you know who the Apostle Peter was, Truth Junior Friends? That’s right—Peter was one of Jesus’ disciples. Before becoming an apostle, Peter worked as a fisherman. He loved Jesus deeply and once said he would never leave Him. But when Jesus was arrested and crucified, Peter denied knowing Him three times. After that, Peter felt very sad and regretful.
Have you ever made a promise to your parents, like, “I promise to study hard so I can get good grades,” but then got lazy or forgot? Or maybe you promised not to get angry at a friend who hurt you, but then ended up yelling or fighting back? Peter also failed to keep his promise to Jesus—but he didn’t stay stuck in regret. He turned back to God and allowed himself to be used again.
After repenting, Peter became a brave apostle who preached the Good News. He was no longer ashamed to declare his faith in Jesus. With passion and courage, Peter told many people about God’s love and salvation.
So, Truth Junior Friends, when we make mistakes, don’t stay in sadness or guilt. Ask God for forgiveness, and He will surely forgive and help us change. God wants us to rise again, keep moving forward, and not repeat the same mistake!
