Today’s Devotional is titled:
Taming the Euphoria of Serving
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 6:1
There is great joy when we serve the Lord. Amid the dynamic pace of campus life and the busyness of the workplace, service becomes an oasis, a place where we feel alive, useful, and embraced by heavenly love. However, unknowingly, the euphoria of serving can shift the direction of our hearts. What once was all about God may slowly become about ourselves, about image, praise, and being known as “the spiritual one.”
God never asks us to seek the spotlight. He calls us to obedience, even in the hidden things. He isn’t looking for the busiest, but the most faithful, those who love, give, and show up quietly with love, not applause.
On campus, we might be involved in many ministries. At the office, we might be entrusted to lead prayers, communities, or devotions. Yet we must guard our hearts, lest our hands be busy while our hearts drift away. Let us not make service a platform for our own name, but a stage to exalt His.
When euphoria begins to blur your motives, come back to His feet. Let the stillness of His love realign your intentions. Service is an honor, not a performance. It is about becoming small, so He may be made great.
What to Do:
1.Take time for honest devotion. In prayer, ask whether your motivation in serving is truly right.
2. Make room for others to shine. Learn to trust your fellow team members with roles and opportunities.
