Today’s devotional is titled:
Talents of Eternal Value

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us yes, establish the work of our hands.” — Psalm 90:17

Many young people are competing to be “more”—more famous, more talented, more successful, and more recognized. There’s nothing wrong with developing one’s abilities, because talents are a gift from God. However, God’s Word today reminds us that there is something far more important than mere achievements: does our life produce something of eternal value?

There are many things that seem great today but are quickly forgotten tomorrow. Popularity can fade, achievements can be replaced, and human praise can change at any moment. However, when talents are used to glorify God, strengthen others, and bring lives closer to Him, then what we do has an impact that is not temporary.

The thing is, God doesn’t just look at the results of our work. God also looks at our personal lives. Therefore, the talents God wants to use must go hand in hand with a pure heart and a righteous life. We must not appear active in serving outwardly while slowly losing our intimacy with God inwardly. Talents without holiness will only lead to pride, but talents accompanied by a righteous life will produce eternal fruit.

Rehobot Youth, God longs to use our talents not just for great things in this world, but for something of eternal value. Therefore, don’t just grow in your skills, but also grow in your spiritual life. When talent and holiness go hand in hand, our lives can be used by God in extraordinary ways to be a light to many people.

What to Do?
• Re-evaluate the motivation behind your talents and what you are pursuing.
• Set aside time every day to build a personal relationship with God.
• Use your abilities to be a blessing and bring people closer to God.
