Talents Growing in God’s Wisdom
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Rehobot Youth, everyone possesses talents and potential uniquely given by God. Some are gifted in academics, music, sports, technology, the arts, or leadership. Developing these gifts is a good thing. However, amidst the drive to achieve, we need to ask: “Is God still the center of every endeavor I undertake?” Let us not become increasingly skilled yet drift further away from the Giver of these talents.
Intellectual intelligence (IQ) helps us learn and solve problems. Emotional intelligence (EQ) helps us work together, manage emotions, and build healthy relationships. Yet, all of this is insufficient if not guided by God’s wisdom. Spirituality (SQ)—or closeness to God—serves as the foundation that guides us to use our talents correctly. God’s wisdom helps us understand not only what we can do, but also why and for whom we are doing it.
Rehobot Youth, the Bible never forbids us from achieving success. In fact, God is pleased when we develop the abilities He has entrusted to us. However, true achievement is not merely about being the best in the eyes of others, but about living a life that glorifies God. When we live close to Him, the Holy Spirit grants us the wisdom to make right decisions, remain humble in success, and stay faithful when facing failure. In this way, our talents not only bring success but also become a means to bless others.
Therefore, Rehobot Youth, pursue achievements seriously, but never let go of God’s hand. Build a healthy spiritual life through prayer, God’s Word, and obedience to Him. When SQ becomes the basis for IQ and EQ, the talents that God gives will develop according to His will. The result is not only a proud achievement, but also a life that glorifies God and has an impact on many people.
What To Do?
1. Involve God in developing talents.
2. Develop abilities with the right character.
3. Use your achievements to glorify God.
