Today’s devotional is titled:
Talents for God’s Glory

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10

Everyone has different talents. Some are good at playing music, public speaking, leading, creating content, writing, or serving others well. None of this is a coincidence; rather, it is a gift from God. God entrusts each gift to be used to serve and be a blessing to others.

However, often the greater a person’s talent, the greater the temptations that come with it. Talent can be used to glorify God, but it can also be used for the sake of popularity, human praise, or even pride. Therefore, God does not only want us to be talented, but also to live in holiness and humility.

Many people appear to be doing great on the outside, but are actually lost on the inside. They are busy developing their skills but neglect their personal relationship with God. In fact, talent without a right heart can lead a person far from God’s original purpose. Talent is like a spotlight on a stage: it can help many people see clearly, but if the mechanism inside is broken, the light won’t last long. The same goes for our lives—character and holiness are the “inner parts” that determine whether God can continue to use us or not.

Rehobot Youth, God gives us talents not just so we can look impressive, but so our lives bring glory to Him. When talents are used with the right heart and a holy life, God can use us to be a blessing to many people. So, don’t just focus on developing your abilities, but also guard your heart to stay close to God.

What to Do?
• Reflect: Have you been using your talents more for God or just for yourself?
• Prioritize a life of prayer and God’s Word, not just skills and achievements.
• Ask God to help you use every gift with a pure heart.
