Today’s devotional is titled:
Strong and Courageous Like Joshua!

Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Have you ever felt afraid? Maybe when you have to speak in front of your class, move to a new school, or face something you’ve never tried before. Well, Joshua once felt that way too!

After Moses died, Joshua had to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land. Many enemies were waiting for them there. But God said, “Be strong and courageous!” That means—don’t be afraid, because God is always with you.

Joshua believed God’s promise. He obeyed and bravely led the people. When they reached the city of Jericho, which was surrounded by tall walls, God gave a very unusual command: march around the city and blow the trumpets. Strange? Maybe—but Joshua still obeyed. And the result was amazing—the walls of Jericho fell, and God gave them victory!

Truth Junior Friends, God also wants us to be strong and courageous like Joshua. We may not face Jericho’s walls, but we can face our fears, laziness, or the temptation to do wrong. When you feel afraid, remember: God is always with you. The same God who helped Joshua will help you too!
