Stopping the Heart’s Protest

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.”
📖 Ephesians 1:3

Guys, sometimes we don’t realize that our hearts are actually protesting against God. Not with harsh words, but with subtle complaints: “I should already be at this point.” “My life shouldn’t be this complicated.”

That “God should have…” attitude grows when we forget what God has already given. We become so focused on what hasn’t happened yet that we forget the blessings we’ve already received—especially the spiritual blessings God has established for us in Christ.

Gratitude stops that protest. When we give thanks, we’re reminded that our lives are not empty, not left behind, and not on the wrong path. We are walking with the provision God has already prepared.

Maybe the circumstances haven’t changed yet. But a grateful heart makes us stop demanding and start trusting. From feeling lacking, to realizing that God is already enough.

So today, before your heart starts asking again, “God should have…,” let gratitude speak first.

What To Do:
1. Identify one form of “heart protest” that often shows up in your prayers.
2. Give thanks for the spiritual blessings God has already given, even if your circumstances haven’t changed.
3. Remember: God doesn’t owe us an explanation, but He is always faithful.
