Start Small

Luke 16:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! We often think that becoming a person who pleases God must start with something big. We want to do something impactful, take on important responsibilities, or be used by God in extraordinary ways. Yet, God actually pays attention to how we handle the small things every day. The way we complete tasks, keep promises, use our time, obey our parents, or fulfill responsibilities when no one is watching reveals the quality of our hearts.

Jesus taught that those who are faithful in small matters will also be faithful in large ones. Faithfulness does not suddenly appear when we receive a major responsibility; it is built through simple decisions made consistently every day. When we choose to remain honest even when we could cheat, complete a task even when we feel lazy, or do what is right even when no one praises us, we are learning to live in obedience to God.

Rehobot Youth, obedience becomes truly evident when circumstances are uncomfortable. It is easy to do the right thing when we are enthusiastic or when everything is going our way. But what about when we are tired, disappointed, unappreciated, or have to do something we don’t actually like? That is where our hearts are shaped. Faithfulness means choosing to do what pleases God—not because the situation is pleasant, but because we love Him.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, do not wait for a “big opportunity” to start living faithfully. Begin with what God has entrusted to you today. Perform small tasks earnestly, obey God in simple decisions, and keep doing what is right, whether in comfortable or uncomfortable situations. People may not always notice the little things, but God sees them, and it is through that faithfulness that He shapes our character.

What To Do?
1. Be faithful in small responsibilities.
2. Remain obedient when circumstances are uncomfortable.
3. Do what is right even when no one is watching.
