Speak with Grace

Colossians 4:6
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! In this age of social media and fast-paced communication, we’re often tempted to immediately reply to comments, express our opinions, or react to something that differs from what we believe. It’s not uncommon for differences of opinion to turn into arguments because everyone feels they’re right. Yet, as followers of Christ, the way we speak should be different from the way the world speaks.

God’s Word teaches that every word we speak should be full of love and delivered with wisdom. A life led by the Holy Spirit isn’t just evident when we pray or worship, but also when we choose words that build others up, listen before speaking, and respect others even when we hold different views. The Holy Spirit helps us respond with love without having to sacrifice the truth.

Rehobot Youth, a life led by the Holy Spirit means allowing Him to control our tongues, attitudes, and responses. When emotions begin to run high, the Holy Spirit reminds us to be patient. When the urge arises to retaliate with hurtful words, He teaches us to choose gentleness. When facing differences, He gives us wisdom so that we can continue to speak the truth in love. In this way, our words do not become a source of division, but a channel of Christ’s peace and love.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, learn to make room for the Holy Spirit to guide every conversation you have. Whether speaking in person or through social media, let every word that comes out of your mouth reflect the character of Christ. The world may be accustomed to winning arguments, but God calls us to win hearts through love and truth.

What To Do?
1. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you speak with love and wisdom.
2. Understand others before expressing your opinion.
3. Use words that build up and reflect the character of Christ, including on social media.
