Today’s Devotional:
Speak Up
“The LORD took me from tending the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’”
— Amos 7:15
Have you ever felt like, “Who am I to say anything?”, “I’m not worthy to speak what’s right,” or “People will think I’m acting holy”? Sometimes we assume God only uses people who are smart, famous, or hold big positions. But look at Amos. He wasn’t a professional prophet, not a priest, not an elite figure. Amos was literally just a shepherd and a fig-picker from a small village—most Christians barely know his story. And yet, God chose him.
When Israel was drowning in luxury, injustice, and empty religious rituals, God called Amos to speak up. His message was bold: “Return to the Lord! Stop your injustice!” Amos didn’t speak because he felt important—he spoke because he obeyed. His simple background became the exact vessel God used to shake a nation.
And the same goes for you. God can use your voice in a world that often chooses silence. Not to seek attention, but to stand for what’s right. Sometimes it looks simple: choosing honesty when others lie, correcting a friend with love, refusing to join something wrong, signing a petition for justice, or sharing something meaningful that uplifts truth. A small voice still matters when God is behind it.
Remember, every small act creates a ripple. When God’s people stay silent, injustice grows louder. So don’t underestimate your voice. God isn’t looking for the most popular—He’s looking for the most faithful. Show up with a pure heart, speak with courage, and let God use your life as an instrument of truth.
What to Do:
1. Pray for a brave heart like Amos, to show up not to please people, but to please God.
2. When you see injustice or something wrong, don’t stay silent. Speak the truth gently and boldly.
