Today’s Devotional Title:
Slow Down Your Anger

Proverbs 14:29
“Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.”

Anger is human. Disappointment, offense, and frustration are real emotions—especially when we feel misunderstood, underestimated, or treated unfairly. The problem is not the emotion itself, but how quickly we react to it.

Proverbs 14:29 reminds us that those who are quick-tempered often act without wisdom. Hasty reactions can hurt others, damage relationships, and leave regret behind. On the other hand, patience creates space to think clearly, understand the situation, and respond with insight.

God does not ask us to suppress or deny our emotions. Instead, He invites us to slow down our reactions and bring those feelings to Him first. When we pause, pray, and surrender our emotions to God, He helps us respond with love rather than outbursts of anger.

Slowing down your anger is not a sign of weakness—it is a mark of spiritual maturity. That is where God works—shaping a calm heart, wise responses, and a life that honors Him.

What To Do?
1. When anger rises, pause and take a breath—don’t react immediately.
2. Bring your feelings to God in prayer before speaking or acting.
3. Choose responses that build up, not ones that simply release momentary emotion.
