Silent Season, Sweet Savior
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1
Have you ever felt like this year’s Christmas just… bland? No big events, no festive vibes like you imagined, and suddenly you’re wondering, “Am I the only one having a Christmas like this?” Relax—you’re not alone. Many people walk through a quiet season—not because they lack faith, but because life sometimes naturally enters a quiet mode.
In the movie Wonka (2023), Willy Wonka shows up with big dreams, but what he receives at first are rejection, deception, and loneliness. There’s a scene where he sits alone, money gone, dreams slipping away—and at that moment he says, “Every good thing in this world started with a dream.” Strange but true: right after that silent, lowest moment, the magical things begin. God uses ordinary people, one small door opens, and Wonka’s journey shifts completely. Miracles often show up not in the noise, but in the quietest corners of our hearts.
The birth of Jesus also started in silence, far from the crowd. No grand stage, no bright lights—just a humble stable. But from that quietness, the salvation of the world began. Just like Wonka starting from nothing, God often works the strongest in places that aren’t loud, in moments that aren’t glamorous, and in seasons that feel empty.
So if your Christmas feels quiet this year, it doesn’t mean God is far. In fact, behind that silence, He’s preparing new strength, new peace, and new steps for your life. God still has “sweet chocolate” for your heart—small comforts, gentle warmth, and hope that slowly rises again. Maybe this is the moment where God begins to write something new in your story.
What To Do:
1. Rewrite Your Dreams that you had buried, like Wonka who still believed in his dreams, try to rewrite the dreams that you once thought were impossible. After that, pray for them one by one.
2. Give One Small Thing to Someone Else. It doesn’t have to be expensive chocolate. Even a prayer or warm words can be a “small miracle” for someone else, just as Wonka was helped by simple people.
