Today’s devotional is titled:
Rising Again with God
“Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more..”.
— Judges 16:28
Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt like a failure because you kept repeating the same mistake? Perhaps you promised to change, only to fall back into the same pattern. Consequently, thoughts like “God must be disappointed in me” or “I’m no longer worthy to come to God” might have crossed your mind.
Samson experienced a major failure. He repeatedly ignored God’s warnings and followed his own desires. As a result, he lost his strength, was captured by the enemy, and even lost his eyesight. From a human perspective, Samson’s life seemed like a total failure.
Yet, Samson’s story didn’t end there. Amidst the wreckage of his life, Samson cried out to God again. And God heard his prayer. Even though Samson had to bear the consequences of his mistakes, God still showed His grace and used his life once more to fulfill His purpose.
From this story, we learn that failure is not the end of the story. God never closes the door to those who wish to return to Him with a broken and humble heart. When we fall, God doesn’t ask us to stay away; instead, He invites us to come back and experience His restoration.
Rehobot Youth, perhaps today there is a mistake, a weakness, or a failure that makes you feel unworthy. Don’t let guilt keep you away from God. His grace is greater than your failures. With God, there is always an opportunity to rise up and move forward again.
What to Do?
• Don’t give up when you fall; come back to God.
• Acknowledge your mistakes and accept the forgiveness God provides.
• Believe that God can still use your life for His purposes.
