Rest in the Midst of Weariness

Luke 5:16
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt like life just keeps going, but deep down you’re actually exhausted? A packed schedule, never-ending tasks, ministry, pressure from those around us, and even our own expectations often keep us moving without ever truly stopping. Without realizing it, our bodies may still be strong enough to carry on, but our souls begin to lose their strength.

Amid the busyness of His ministry, Jesus also experienced days filled with demands. Many people came seeking Him, needing His help, and following Him wherever He went. However, Luke records that Jesus would withdraw to quiet places and pray. He did not use His busyness as an excuse to neglect His relationship with the Father. On the contrary, God’s presence was where Jesus drew the strength to continue His ministry.

Rehobot Youth, the world often teaches that being constantly busy is a sign of success. But Jesus teaches that pausing for a moment in God’s presence is not a step backward, but rather a part of a healthy life. Resting with God does not mean we are running away from our responsibilities, but rather making room for God to restore our hearts, calm our minds, and renew our strength. When our relationship with God is maintained, we will have the wisdom and strength to face every challenge.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, don’t wait until you’re completely exhausted to come to God. Make quiet time, prayer, and moments of stillness in His presence a part of your daily rhythm. It is there that God strengthens your steps, steadies your heart, and reminds you that you are never walking through life alone. Often, the restoration we need most isn’t a longer vacation, but a deeper encounter with God.

What To Do?
1. Recognize the signs when your soul begins to grow weary.
2. Schedule special time with God.
3. Make spending time in God’s presence a way of life.
