Today’s devotional is titled:
Responsibility at a Young Age
2 Kings 11:21
Joash was seven years old when he began to reign.
Rehobot Youth, have you ever felt, “This is too much for me”? Responsibilities at home, school, or in the ministry feel overwhelming, even making you doubt yourself.
Joash experienced that too. Imagine, at seven years old, he was already king. Humanly, he was clearly not ready. But he didn’t walk alone—Jehoiada was there to guide him. That’s the key: great responsibility requires proper guidance.
Sometimes we think we have to be strong alone. But God often uses others to help us. Teachers, parents, spiritual elders—they can be part of how God shapes us.
Responsibility that comes sooner doesn’t mean you’re being forced, but rather that you’re being trusted. God sees potential you might not yet see.
So don’t immediately back down when you feel inadequate. In fact, you’re being trained. With the right guidance and a heart willing to learn, you can grow faster than you ever imagined.
What To Do?
• Find someone who can guide and give you direction.
• Don’t hesitate to ask questions when you feel overwhelmed.
• Trust: God is shaping you through this responsibility.
