Today’s Devotional Title:
Respond Like Christ

1 Peter 2:23
“When He was insulted, He did not insult in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly.”

Naturally, we want to hit back when we’re hurt. When we’re insulted, misunderstood, or treated unfairly, our first instinct is usually to defend ourselves or fire back. We feel the urge to correct people immediately, prove our point, or even make them feel what we’re feeling.

But Jesus showed a different response. He didn’t return insult for insult. He didn’t threaten when He was treated unjustly. Instead, He chose self-control and entrusted everything to the Father who judges fairly. That wasn’t weakness. That was strength rooted in complete trust in God.

Our faith is most visible not when everything is going well, but when we’re provoked. The way we respond to pressure and offense reveals who is leading our hearts—our ego or the Holy Spirit. Following Christ means learning to respond with calmness, love, and confidence that God sees everything.

To respond like Christ means choosing the higher way. Not because we’re weak, but because we trust that God is our defender. That’s where self-control becomes a powerful testimony that our lives are truly led by Christ.

What To Do?
1. When you feel attacked or hurt, pause and resist the urge to react immediately.
2. Remember how Jesus responded to suffering—with calmness and trust in God.
3. Pray for the person who hurt you, and ask God to help you respond with the heart of Christ.
