Today’s reflection is titled:
Remaining Wise Amidst Suffering
Job 12:13
“To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His.”
Hi, Rehobot Youth! No one wants to experience failure or suffering. Failing an exam, being rejected by a dream institution, losing a loved one, or facing a problem that never seems to end often makes us ask, “Why is this happening?” In situations like these, we can feel confused and try to find answers using only our own abilities.
Job experienced incredibly difficult things in his life. He lost so much and faced suffering that was hard to comprehend. Yet, in the midst of that situation, Job realized that true wisdom and strength come only from God. The Lord possesses understanding that far surpasses human comprehension.
Often, when facing problems, we rely solely on logic or our feelings. Intellectual intelligence (IQ) can help us find solutions, and emotional intelligence (EQ) helps us understand our feelings. However, spirituality (SQ)—or closeness to God—provides a deeper foundation: the wisdom to keep trusting the Lord even when we do not yet understand His entire plan.
Rehobot Youth, closeness to God does not always make all suffering vanish instantly. But God gives us the strength to endure it with faith. When we come to Him through prayer and His Word, we learn to view problems not merely from a human standpoint, but from God’s perspective, which is full of wisdom.
Therefore, do not let suffering drive you away from God. Instead, draw closer to Him during difficult times. Trust that God possesses perfect wisdom and understanding. When we lean on Him, He will grant us the strength to remain steadfast through every season of life.
What To Do?
1. Come to God when facing problems and struggles.
2. Learn to rely on God, not on our own strength.
3. Trust that God is still at work, even if you do not yet understand the process.
