Today’s devotional is titled:
Pure Like King Josiah!
2 Kings 23:25
“Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength—in accordance with all the Law of Moses.”
Did you know that King Josiah became king when he was only eight years old? He was still very young, but he had an amazing heart for God.
From a young age, Josiah began to seek God. He wanted to know what pleased the Lord and tried to live the right way. When he read God’s Word, Josiah realized that his nation had turned far away from God. Many people were worshiping idols—fake statues that couldn’t speak or help anyone.
Josiah didn’t just sit still! He destroyed all the idols and cleaned up the land from idol worship. He wanted the whole nation to return to worshiping the one true God. God was very pleased with Josiah’s pure and sincere heart. Because Josiah truly loved the Lord, God was pleased with him.
Truth Junior Friends, even though we’re still young like Josiah, we can also love God with a pure heart! God doesn’t look at our age or appearance—He looks at our hearts. When we choose to live obediently, honestly, and lovingly toward God, we make Him happy—just like King Josiah did!
