Today’s devotional is titled:
Processed, Not Rejected
“For the Lord disciplines those He loves, as a father disciplines the son he delights in.”
(Proverbs 3:12)
When life feels heavy and your prayers seem unanswered, it’s easy to think, “Is God punishing me?” or even, “Have I failed to fulfill God’s calling?”
But often, it’s in the hardest seasons that God is doing His deepest work. He’s not punishing you — He’s shaping you. Just like a father trains a child he loves, God is training your character, patience, and endurance so that you’ll be ready for something greater.
Gen Z has grown up in a fast-paced world. But heavenly character isn’t developed instantly. Sometimes, God allows us to go through the process not because He loves us less — but because He loves us enough to prepare us for more than just our dreams.
What to Do?
1. Identify one area of your life right now that feels like a “difficult process.” Is it your studies, family, ministry, or relationships?
2. Reflect: If this isn’t punishment but training — what kind of character might God be developing in you through it?
