Today’s devotional is titled:
Peacemaker
1 Samuel 25:32–33
David said to Abigail, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you today to meet me. May you be blessed for your good judgment and for keeping me from bloodshed this day and from avenging myself with my own hands.”
Have you ever seen friends fighting at school? The atmosphere quickly turns noisy and tense, and sometimes it even makes us scared. Usually, we either watch from a distance or even cheer, but that only makes the fight worse.
In the Bible, there was a wise woman named Abigail. When David was furious with Nabal and wanted to take revenge, Abigail bravely stepped forward. She brought food, spoke humbly, and calmed David down so he would not do something wrong. Because of Abigail’s wisdom, bloodshed was prevented.
God wants us to follow Abigail’s example and be peacemakers. For example, when we see friends fighting, we can encourage them to talk things out calmly or help them solve the problem peacefully. If friends are teasing each other, we can remind them with gentle words.
Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
So come on, Truth Junior friends, let’s not be afraid to be peacemakers at school, at home, or wherever we are. God is pleased when His children bring peace!
