Today’s Devotional is titled:
Ordinary Skill, Noble Calling

“Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” – Proverbs 22:29

Have you ever felt insecure for not having any outstanding skills? Maybe you can’t sing, aren’t great at public speaking, can’t draw, or don’t excel in sports. And then you start wondering, “What does God want me to do?” But God isn’t looking for someone who’s impressive He’s looking for someone who’s willing. Remember David? He wasn’t a soldier. Just a shepherd. Yet with a simple slingshot, he defeated a giant. Peter? Just a fisherman. But God used him to become the rock of the Church. God doesn’t ask, “How much do you have?” He asks, “Will you use what you have for Me?” Sometimes, the most impactful things come from simple acts: The design you make for a worship service. The video you edit for youth ministry. The time you give to listen to a friend. The silent prayer you whisper. Ordinary skill, in God’s hands, can build His Kingdom.

What to Do:
1. Take time to recognize the skill you already have. Maybe you’re good at design, enjoy writing, are a good listener, or have creative ideas. Don’t underestimate it God can use it to bless others.
2. Say this in your prayer:
“Lord, I know I don’t have much. But I believe that what I do have, You can use. I surrender my skills into Your hands. Use me.”
