Not Smooth, But Still Trusting
“Give thanks in all circumstances…”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Guys, the new year often makes us hope life will be smoother. Fewer problems, less drama, and everything going according to plan. But the reality is, entering 2026 doesn’t mean life automatically becomes safe and easy. Problems are still there, tiredness is still real, and sometimes our hearts still feel noisy and unsettled.
This is where we learn the true meaning of gratitude. Gratitude doesn’t mean a life without problems—it means choosing to keep trusting that God is in control, even when life isn’t ideal. We can be tired, we can be confused, we can cry—but don’t stop hoping.
God never promised that our lives would always be smooth, but He did promise He would always be with us. And that’s enough for us to keep moving forward, one day at a time.
What To Do:
1. Name 2 small things you can still be thankful for today.
2. Pray about one thing that’s weighing you down, and surrender it to God.
3. Start this year with one simple spiritual habit: an honest prayer or reading the Bible briefly every day.
