Today’s devotion is titled:
Not Just Busy, But Fruitful
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
— John 15:1–2
Sometimes we feel proud of being busy—busy working, busy serving, busy doing so many things. But Jesus reminds us that what matters is not how busy we are, but whether our busyness produces fruit. Busyness without fruit only makes us tired, but when we remain in Christ, everything we do will bear meaningful results.
To bear fruit means that our lives reflect love, patience, and kindness to others. It shows that we’re not just active, but truly led by God. Busyness without a personal connection with Him can make us lose direction, but when we stay rooted in Christ, every activity becomes a field of blessing.
God is not looking for people who are merely busy—He’s looking for those who are faithful and willing to produce lasting fruit. He wants every part of our lives to reflect the character of Christ—not only in big ministries but also in small, quiet acts of love and faithfulness.
So, in the middle of your busy schedule, make sure your heart stays connected to the Source of life. Because only by remaining in Christ can we truly bear fruit and bring glory to His name.
What to Do:
1. Set aside time every day to fellowship with God, not just to do activities for Him.
2. Measure success not by the number of activities, but by the love that comes from them.
3. Let God purify your motives so that every activity produces eternal fruit.
