Not a Product of the World’s Expectations

Today’s Devotional is titled:
Not a Product of the World’s Expectations

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is…” – (Romans 12:2a)

These days, the world sets many standards: be successful before 30, always stay positive, always appear happy, know your passion and life direction since high school. The result? Many feel stressed, burned out, overthink everything, and feel completely “lost.”

But God never asked us to live according to the world’s standards. He wants us to live according to His will, not under the pressure of social expectations. God doesn’t need you to become the “perfect version” you see on Instagram. He longs for you to live in truth and in your own uniqueness.

Your identity is not defined by likes, economic status, academic achievements, or career direction. Your identity is defined by the One who created you — God Himself.

What to Do?
1. Reflect: What expectations are weighing on your life the most right now? Are they coming from others or from yourself?
2. Pray: Surrender those expectations to God and ask for a renewed mind so you can begin to see yourself the way God sees you.
