Today’s reflection is titled:
My Life Story is like Upin Ipin’s
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:19
Do you know Upin Ipin? Yes, the two kids whose life stories are quite inspiring. If we pay attention, Upin Ipin grew up without their parents, not because it was intentional, but there was a purpose behind it all. It’s the same with us; sometimes we find ourselves in an uncomfortable position, but God continues to use us. If we could ask, “Why me, God? Why not them, whose families are more stable than mine?” So, even though we don’t have parents, we should be like Upin and Ipin who didn’t lose their way, because there is love, guidance, and faith that shaped them.
The same goes for us. Even though our families are not perfect, that is not a reason for us to stray from God. In fact, in the midst of our shortcomings, God can shape us into strong, empathetic individuals who are a blessing to others. Heartache can be God’s tool to strengthen friends who are going through the same thing.
So remember, your family may not be complete, but your life can still be used by God to be a blessing. Just like Upin & Ipin who remain cheerful and faithful in worship without parents, you too can live close to God, because He is always close to a broken heart.
What to do :
1. Get closer to God every day.
Even if your family is not perfect, don’t stray away from God. Start with a short morning/evening prayer: “God, I need You.”
2. Learn from Upin & Ipin.
They continue to worship even without their parents. Let’s diligently attend worship services/church, because that will strengthen your faith.
