Today’s Devotional Title:
Love Needs Boundaries

Ester 4:14
“…who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”

Many people think that the more freedom there is in love, the better it is. But in fact, boundaries are what keep relationships healthy. Look at Esther. As a young queen, she had access to the power and comforts of the palace. But she did not live recklessly. She knew when to be silent, when to speak up, and when to take risks for the sake of truth.

Esther did not use her position for personal gain. She set clear boundaries: her loyalty to God and her people was more important than her own safety or comfort. If she had gone with the flow or been afraid of losing her position, her people could have been destroyed. But because she dared to stand on her principles, God used her as an instrument of salvation.

The same applies to relationships. Boundaries are not a sign of a lack of love, but a sign of mature love. Knowing when to stop, when to protect yourself, and when to say enough is part of wisdom. Without boundaries, love can easily turn into selfishness. With boundaries, love has direction and purpose.

So don’t be afraid of being called too strict. If your boundaries are born out of faith and fear of God, they are not a weakness. They are a strength. True love always moves in the direction God determines, not just following feelings.

What to Do?
1. Dare to say no to things that threaten your faith and future.
2. Set clear boundaries in relationships from the start.
3. Remember Esther: the right boundaries can be used by God for great purposes.
