Love Found a Way

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Every time Christmas comes around, everyone gets busy hunting for gifts, hanging lights, and posting their “Christmas vibes” on social media. But in the middle of all that excitement, very few actually stop and ask, “Lord, what do You want me to give on Your birthday?” The truth is, Jesus doesn’t need candles, new outfits, or a huge party. What He’s really waiting for every Christmas is a gift that comes from our hearts.

You probably know the story of Spider-Man. At the end of the movie, Peter Parker makes the hardest choice of his life—letting go of the people he loves, including his best friend, so the world could be saved. He realizes that being a hero isn’t about being famous, but about being willing to lose something precious for the sake of others. Peter gives up “everyone he loves” so many others can live in peace.

And that’s exactly what Jesus did—on a far greater scale. Jesus willingly went to the cross, even though He had done nothing wrong. He sacrificed His life so we could be saved. Jesus was born not to receive gifts, but to give the greatest gift of all—His life. So now the real question is this: if Jesus has already given everything for us, what can we give to Him?

What to Do:
1. Learn to Let Go. Jesus taught that true love always involves sacrifice. Try to let go of one thing that separates you from God, whether it be a bad habit, an unhealthy relationship, or a proud attitude. Because the best gift is not the one you add, but the one you let go of.
2. Proven Love, Not Posted Love. Small gifts like helping your mom without being asked, praying for your friends, or sending an apology message to someone you’ve disappointed are all of great value in God’s eyes.
