Today’s devotional is titled:
Love Born from Forgiveness
Luke 7:47
“Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
Truth Junior friends, today we learn from a woman who came to Jesus with a heart full of repentance. She was known as a sinner. Many people looked down on her and didn’t even want to be near her. Yet she bravely came to Jesus. With her tears, she washed His feet, and with perfume, she anointed Him. This was a sign of her great love.
Why did she do this? Because she knew that only Jesus could forgive her sins. Her guilty heart found peace when she believed that Jesus was willing to accept her. From a heart that had been forgiven, great love was born for Him.
Truth Junior friends, we are just like that woman. Maybe we often lie, feel lazy to study, disobey our parents, or envy our friends. All of these are sins. But the good news is, Jesus is ready to forgive us when we come to Him with an honest and repentant heart.
When we have been forgiven, surely we will want to love Jesus even more. We can show our love by obeying God’s Word, praying faithfully, reading the Bible, and doing good to others.
Let’s learn from this woman: great love is born from a heart that has been forgiven by Jesus.
