Living Content and Willing to Share
“Then He said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.’” – Luke 12:15
Hello, Truth Juniors! Have you ever felt like you wanted to have all the toys in the store? Or maybe you didn’t want to share your favorite food because you thought it wasn’t enough? Today, we’re going to learn about living with contentment and not being greedy. Greed means always wanting more and more, even when we already have enough. For example, having five pencils but still wanting more, while your friend doesn’t even have one. Or taking too much food so that your friends don’t get any.
God is not pleased when we are greedy, because greed can make others suffer. In fact, because of greed, many people damage the earth—taking more than they need and forgetting to share. The world becomes broken because people are never satisfied and want to own everything. But God teaches us to live simply and be thankful for what we have. And if we have more, let’s share it! For example, giving away toys you no longer use to someone in need, or sharing your lunch with a friend who forgot theirs. By living with contentment and generosity, we make God happy and help make the world a better place.
Come on, Truth Juniors, let’s learn today not to be greedy. Let’s become children of God who are generous and love to share!
