Little Things, Big Impact
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it becomes the largest of all garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can nest in its shade.” – Matthew 13:31-32
Often, we tend to overlook the small things in life. We may think that the small actions we take won’t make a significant difference. We wait to do something “big” or ‘spectacular’ before we feel that the impact we make is meaningful. However, a sincere smile, simple words of encouragement, a prayer offered for others, an unexpected act of kindness, or even an idea that seems trivial at first all of these are the “mustard seeds” in our lives. Perhaps at first we don’t see the impact, but over time, these small seeds can grow into something extraordinary, bringing blessings, hope, and change to ourselves and those around us.
In this parable, Jesus describes the Kingdom of Heaven with something very small and seemingly insignificant: a mustard seed. Imagine, a seed so tiny, almost invisible, yet with the extraordinary potential to grow into a large, shady tree where birds find shelter. The Kingdom of God works in the same way. It doesn’t always come with fanfare and commotion, but often begins with a small, open heart to truth, simple acts of faith, and faithful, small commitments. Never underestimate the power of the “little things” you do, for within them lies the potential for “big impact.”
What to Do:
1. Start from small Things
