Little Hand of Hope

2 Kings 5:3
“She said to her mistress, ‘If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.’”

In Math class, we usually start by counting small numbers. But over time, the numbers get bigger because we’re moving up to the next level. For example, first we learn multiplication from 1–10, then level up to 11–15, and later to harder ones like three-digit multiplication.

In the same way, the small things God entrusts to us, like tidying up our room, looking after a younger sibling, helping an older sibling who is sick, or preparing our schoolbooks by ourselves, are important early training.

In today’s verse, we read about a young girl who had strong faith in God’s power through the prophet Elisha. Because of her faith, Naaman was healed from his leprosy.

Faith can start small, as long as it’s done sincerely. If we are faithful and diligent in small things, one day God will entrust us with greater responsibilities to accomplish His mission. Even when we look in the mirror and think, “I’m still small, my hands are small. How can I do anything?” God doesn’t look at our strength or outward appearance.

God looks at our hearts. Are we ready and willing to faithfully do the little things He entrusts to us? Sometimes we ignore them or get lazy because they seem small and no one praises us for them. But God still sees our faithfulness.

So, Truth Junior friends, here’s the key: open your heart wide, and stretch out your hands to receive God’s lessons and assignments. Say in your prayer, “I’ll say yes, yes, yes! I’ll say yes, Lord!”

Keep striving to do the little things, because they will become precious gems in God’s eyes.
