Today’s devotional is titled:
Joy Because of Jesus

Luke 1:41–42
One day, Mary came to visit her relative Elizabeth. At that time, Elizabeth was pregnant with a baby, and so was Mary. When Mary greeted her, “Hello, Elizabeth!” suddenly Elizabeth felt something amazing: the baby in her womb leaped for joy! It was as if the baby knew that Mary had come bringing good news.

When Mary—who was carrying Jesus—visited Elizabeth, something miraculous happened. The baby in Elizabeth’s womb (who would become John the Baptist) leaped with joy, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. They both rejoiced over the presence of the baby Jesus in the womb, who would become the Savior.

Truth Kids friends, sometimes we forget to rejoice because of Jesus. We may be happier about getting a new toy, watching an exciting movie, or going on a trip, but rarely feel joy just because Jesus is in our lives. Sometimes we even become upset when our wishes aren’t fulfilled, forgetting that Jesus has already given us true joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances.

Let’s learn from Mary, Elizabeth, and baby John to rejoice because of Jesus. We can sing, pray, and give thanks every day, knowing that Jesus is always with us.

So come on, Truth Kids friends, let’s fill our hearts with joy from the Lord—not just from temporary things!
