Today’s devotional is titled:
Jesus Was Tired Too

“There was a well of Jacob there. Jesus was tired from his journey, so he sat down by the well. It was about noon.”
— John 4:6

We often think that spiritual life means we must always be strong, stable, and never show signs of fatigue. However, today’s verse shows us a very human side of Jesus: Jesus was tired. He walked a long way, exhausted, and chose to sit and rest by the well.

It is important for us to realize that fatigue is not a sin and is not a sign of weak faith. When Jesus was tired, He did not force Himself to keep walking, but stopped for a moment. The Bible clearly records that Jesus did not deny the limits of His body and acknowledged the need to rest.

Interestingly, it was precisely in that moment of exhaustion that Jesus had a very impactful encounter—He met the Samaritan woman and her life was changed. This teaches us that God can still work through our lives, even when we are tired. Rest does not mean giving up, but is part of wisdom and obedience.

This reflection reminds us that strong faith is not always seen in how busy we are or how long we can go without a break. Mature faith also knows when to stop, sit down, and restore ourselves with God. If today you feel tired—physically, mentally, or emotionally—remember one thing: Jesus understands. He has been there. And just as Jesus sat by the well, God also invites you to come and rest in His presence.

What To Do?
1. Allow yourself to rest without guilt.
2. Come to God as you are—tired and honest.
3. Trust that God is still at work, even when your energy is limited.
