Today’s devotional is titled:
It’s Not About Who Gets Praised
“For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.”
📖 2 Corinthians 10:18
Rehobot Youth, in today’s world, recognition feels important. Likes, views, compliments, and validation can make us feel like we matter. Without realizing it, we become busy proving ourselves—we want to look spiritual, we want to be seen as successful, we want to be acknowledged.
But God’s Word reminds us: what truly has value isn’t who is best at praising themselves, but who lives in a way that pleases God. A life that knows its place understands that our worth is not determined by human applause, but by God’s evaluation.
When we live with a grateful heart, we’re no longer thirsty for recognition. We can calmly do what is right even when no one notices—because we know God sees. And that is enough.
Gratitude keeps us humble. It helps us stop chasing praise and start chasing a life that pleases God. It’s not about looking impressive—it’s about being faithful.
What To Do:
1. Check your motives: are you doing something to be praised, or to please God?
2. Train your heart to stay grateful even when your efforts aren’t seen by others.
3. Remember: God’s praise is far more valuable than human recognition.
