Today’s Devotional is titled:
“Is That All? But God Uses It”

“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” – John 6:9

Sometimes we feel like our lives are too small to make a difference. The talents we have seem ordinary compared to others. We don’t have a golden voice for singing, we can’t deliver a sermon that sends chills down your spine, or we don’t have many followers to spread positive messages. It feels like we’re just supporting characters, not the main actors. But let’s look at a simple story in John 6. In that story, there was a little boy who only had five loaves of bread and two fish certainly not enough for a restaurant meal, just a child’s lunch. But when he gave those provisions to Jesus, He turned them into food for over five thousand people. It wasn’t the quantity that made the miracle, but the boy’s obedience and willingness to give what he had, even though it seemed small.

In today’s world, which constantly demands “more” more skills, more achievements, more accomplishments, and so on God invites us to give “what we have” first. Not later when we’re ready, but now, whatever form it takes. Perhaps we enjoy design, photo editing, writing, and so on these are not trivial things. They can be the bread and fish, and they can be used to satisfy many hungry hearts.

What to Do:
1. Today, take a moment to identify three simple things you can do or enjoy, then bring them into your prayers. Say, “Lord, this is what I have. I entrust it to Your hands.”
2. Start with small steps. Help a friend who is feeling down, perhaps by creating some spiritual content or sending a verse to someone you know who needs encouragement. Don’t wait until you have a lot; even small things in God’s hands can become a great channel of blessing.
