Inside Out Christmas: Let Him In

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”— Revelation 3:20

When we were little, birthdays were always special because there were cakes, candles, gifts, and wishes from the people who loved us. Then have we ever thought about it? If it were Jesus’ birthday, what gifts would He actually expect from us? Sometimes we are often busy decorating the outside, but Jesus actually wants to enter our hearts.

In the movie Inside Out 2, Riley grows up to be a teenager and begins to face new feelings such as anxiety, shame, jealousy, and even fear of failure. Sometimes, these emotions make her heart chaotic and lose direction. But behind all that, there is an important message: Riley can only be calm when she starts to be honest with herself and makes peace with what she feels. Maybe that is also what Jesus wants from us on His birthday. He doesn’t ask for a big party or expensive gifts. But He only wants one thing: for us to open our hearts and allow Him to enter the deepest parts that we often hide.

Jesus knows the deepest contents of our hearts, such as our fears, anxieties, overthinking, and even the guilt we keep hidden. But He did not come to judge us, but to heal us. If Inside Out teaches us to recognize and accept our emotions, Jesus came to restore our hearts from the deepest part to the outside. And maybe He wants to say, “I don’t just want to be part of your Christmas celebration. I want to live in your heart.”

✅ What to Do?
1. Be honest with God. You don’t always have to appear strong before God. Try to take time in the evening to be honest in your prayers.
2. Forgive and make peace. Just as Riley learned to make peace with her emotions, you too can make peace with others. Forgive friends who have hurt you.
