Today’s devotional is titled:
Insecure, But Not Without Purpose
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Rehobot Youth, insecurity is real. Feeling inadequate, feeling inadequate, feeling inadequate—we experience it all too often. Whether it’s because of our appearance, abilities, past experiences, or comparisons with others.
But one important thing: feelings of insecurity don’t arise without reason. And God can use them. Sometimes insecurity arises to reveal areas we haven’t surrendered to God. There are parts of ourselves that we still measure by the world’s standards, not God’s. That’s where God begins to work—changing the way we see ourselves.
Insecurity can also be God’s tool to cultivate humility. So that we don’t depend on ourselves, but learn to rely on God. And from there, we become more sensitive, more understanding of others, and stronger spiritually.
God doesn’t create insecurity to bring you down, but He can use it to build you up. From feelings of “not being enough,” God teaches us that we are sufficient in Him. So don’t just focus on your inadequacies. Try asking, “God, what are you trying to shape me through this?” Because in God’s hands, even insecurity can be a path to growth.
What To Do?
• Identify areas that make you insecure, then bring them to prayer.
• Replace the world’s standards with God’s perspective of you.
• Trust: God is shaping something through this process.
