Today’s devotional is titled:
Honor Begins with Simple Things

Proverbs 3:9
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your income

We often think that honoring God and authority is something grand—evident in our service, words, or attitude in front of others. Yet God’s Word today reminds us that honor actually begins with simple things, including how we manage what we have.

Money may seem like a small matter in daily life, but it reveals the attitude of our hearts. How we use money—whether we are wasteful or wise, whether we prioritize God or ourselves—all reflect whether we truly honor God.

Honoring God with our possessions is not about the amount, but about the heart. When we learn to give the best, manage wisely, and not carelessly use what has been entrusted to us, we are learning to live in obedience.

The same applies to parents and authority figures—respect is not merely seen in words, but in concrete actions, including financial matters. When we are faithful in simple things, we are building a character that is pleasing to God. True respect always begins with small acts done faithfully.

What To Do?
• Evaluate how you use money—does it glorify God?
• Start learning to manage your finances wisely and avoid wastefulness.
• Train yourself to put God first in everything, including finances.
