Healthy Physical Boundaries

1 Thessalonians 4:3–4
“For this is the will of God: your sanctification… that each of you should know how to control his own body in holiness and honor.”

Rehobot Youth, in relationships, physical closeness is often seen as proof of love. The closer you are, the more serious the relationship is considered. But God’s Word teaches that healthy love isn’t just about closeness, but also about sanctification and honor.

Physical boundaries are important not because we’re rigid, but because we value ourselves, our partner, and God. Without boundaries, a relationship can easily be swept away by emotions and fleeting impulses. But with healthy boundaries, the relationship becomes safer, clearer, and more fulfilling.

Maintaining physical boundaries doesn’t mean we don’t care. On the contrary, it’s a sign that we’re serious. We don’t want this relationship to be ruined just because of a hasty decision. We choose to protect what God has entrusted to us, including our bodies and hearts.

Mature love knows that not everything that can be done should be done. There is a time, a place, and a commitment that must be clear. Until that time comes, we learn to respect the process.

What To Do?
• Agree on healthy physical boundaries from the start of the relationship.
• Avoid situations that could lead to compromise.
• Remember, taking care of yourself is a responsible form of love.
