Guard Your Mouth, Guard Your Heart!
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” – Ephesians 4:29
Hello, Truth Juniors! How are you doing today? We hope you’re healthy and doing well! Today we are reminded of such a powerful Word of God. Curious? Let’s learn together! In Ephesians 4:29, God teaches us not to use dirty or hurtful words. But what does that mean? Speaking bad words isn’t only about yelling at others with harsh language, but also when we mock or make fun of our friends.
For example, when you laugh at a friend just because they are shorter than you, or when you insult someone because of the color of their skin—that is also unwholesome talk. God does not like it when we use our mouths to hurt others. Remember, every person is created by God in a special and unique way. When we mock or insult others, it’s the same as not respecting God’s creation.
Instead of using hurtful words, we should use our mouths to speak words that are kind and encouraging. For example, cheering up a friend who feels sad, giving praise when someone does something good, or comforting a friend who feels like a failure. Simple words like, “You’re amazing!” “Keep going, don’t give up!” or “I’m proud of you!” can lift someone’s spirit and make them feel better.
So, starting today, let’s use our mouths for positive things! Remember, our words can be a blessing to others. Don’t use them to hurt, but to build up, encourage, and spread joy. Let’s be children of God who bring peace and happiness through our words. Keep it up, Truth Juniors!
