Today’s devotional is titled:
Grow Through Conflict
Romans 5:3–4
“Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Rehobot Youth, conflict is often seen as something to be avoided. We don’t like arguments, we’re uncomfortable with differing opinions, or we’re afraid relationships will become strained. But actually, conflict isn’t always the enemy—conflict can be God’s tool to shape us.
Through conflict, we learn many things: we learn patience, we learn to listen, we learn to control our emotions, and we learn to understand others’ perspectives. Without conflict, we might stay comfortable, but we won’t grow.
The issue isn’t whether conflict exists or not, but how we respond to it. If we act out of ego, conflict can be destructive. But if we approach it with a heart open to learning, conflict can deepen relationships and shape our character.
God can use uncomfortable moments to train us to become more mature. When we choose to stay calm, remain respectful, and keep seeking solutions, we’re growing—not just as individuals, but also spiritually.
What To Do?
• See conflict as a learning opportunity, not a threat.
• Listen before reacting.
• Choose a response that builds up, not one that hurts.
